- Relationships and networks at the national, state-wide, and associational level.
- Extensive interviewing and hiring experience with SBC churches and/or entities.
- Current engagement as a church or entity staff member who is actively tracking church staffing trends, best practices, and challenges.
- Administrative and oral/written communication gifts so that materials provided to Candidates and Clients are well-formed, thoughtful, and professional.
- A flourishing life of Christ-centered discipleship.

- The ability to read people, understand their gifts, and dig to find the "story between the lines."
- Carry a professional demeanor as they interact with Clients and Candidates.
- Initiative to reach out to churches, solicit search services, make presentations, and build their own book of business while occasionally receiving referrals for Clients from the CEO based on demand.
- Flexibility of time to conduct interviews and interact with Clients at varying times during the week.
- Ability to attend a weekly team video meeting.
- Occasional availability to staff exhibition booths at various conferences, conventions, or events.
- While Search Consultants should be internally motivated and a self-starter, they should be comfortable working within established business and search processes and operating under the authority and direction of the CEO.
- Tiered compensation for Search Consultants and Senior Search Consultants giving incentive to source and conduct a maximum amount of searches per year. Typically, consultants will make an equivalent of $75-150 per hour, but payment is made based on contracted and filled searches. Payments are made on a 1099 contractual basis, and contracts are based on the calendar year.
- Senior Search Consultants must have fulfilled four searches in the prior year and will receive a greater percentage of the search costs.
- Bonuses for matching 5 or more candidates with churches per year.
- All software service expenses covered.
- Other supplies are covered like business cards, stationary, and branded clothing.
- Computer and technology equipment, home office furnishings, printers, paper, and other office supplies are Consultant-provided.
